Personal highlights for her so this year, such as being hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest in the stage at the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has kept up a steady songwriting routine despite the ups and downs of recent years. She is now a magnet for aspiring artists, she is constantly looking over beats sent her way and discovers that a lot of them end up sparking song ideas. In just five seconds, I'm able to tell the quality of a song or not. Then I get an idea of the song and write it immediately. As I play my guitar on my front porch I begin writing, and words flow. The majority of the time it is accomplished in thirty minutes. Niykee continues to develop her abilities as a poet and lyrics writer. She says that her experiences of suffering in the past can be a sources of motivation. When I'm not writing directly about events that have occurred to me, the pain of my childhood and losing my sister ends being incorporated into my lyrics, she says. This influences my music and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is an important thing for me. I want to be able to say that I can listen to any of my songs in 20 years down the road and be happy with what I wrote.
